He is an Indian International Cricketer. He is left-handed opening Batsman and occasional right-arm off break bowler, who plays for Delhi in Domestic Cricket and Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. He scored the Fastest Century by any Batsman on Test Debut (85 balls) at Mohali in March 2013. In November 2014, he became the Fastest Indian Batsman to reach the 2000 ODI run. In 2016, he became the Fastest Indian and one of the three Fastest Batsman in World to reach 3000 ODI runs.

Personal Life

Early Life:

Shikhar Dhawan was born on 5 December 1985 to Mahendra Pal Dhawan and Sunaina Dhawan in a Punjabi Family. His Nickname is Gabbar. He likewise causes a younger sister, Shreshta Dhawan. He made out his schooling from St. Marks, Senior Secondary Public School in Paschim Vihar. He was an average student but was very good at Sports. He joins Sonnet Club when he was barely 12 years old and Popular Coach Tarak Sinha trained him personally. He began his preparation as a wicket keeper in the clubhouse. He grew his interest towards cricket by seeing his cousin who used to play for Sonnet Club.

Married Life:

On 30 October 2012, he married Ayesha Mukherjee, who is a half-Bengali and a half-British amateur Boxer and follows a regular fitness regime. They tied the knot as per Sikh wedding customs in Vasant Kunj Gurudwara South Delhi.  She was introduced to Dhawan by Harbhajan Singh on Facebook. She has two daughters from her previous Marriage – Rhea and Aliyah. In early 2014, the couple was blessed with a baby boy named Zoravar Dhawan.

Career

Youth Career:

He made his cricket Debut through under-16s in 1990/00 Vijay Merchant Trophy playing for Delhi. He gained recognition after 2000/01 Vijay Merchant Trophy where he scored 755 runs from 9 innings and averaged 83.88 with two centuries and a high score of 199.  This achievement of his led him to be selected for the North Zone under-16s squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy and to the selection of him in the Indian Squad for under-17 Asia cup in 2001. He also played for Delhi under-19 team in 2001 for Cooch Behar Trophy. Dhawan played for India in 2004 ICC under-19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh and finished as the leading run-scorer of the Tournament where he scored 505 runs from 7 innings and averaged 84.16 with three centuries and a fifty.

Domestic Career:

Dhawan made his first-class Debut against Andhra for Delhi during the 2004-05 Ranji Trophy in November 2004 and scored 49 on his Debut innings. He finished as Delhi’s leading run-scorer in that Ranji season with a total of 461 runs from 6 matches and a high score of 130. Dhawan made his list a Debut against Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana in Ranji one-day Trophy. He was then picked in the India Seniors Challenger Trophy Squad in February 2005. He opened the inning for his team with Mahendra Singh Dhoni in that Series. He was made Captain of Delhi team for the Ranji one-day Trophy in February 2007 where he scored 161 runs at an average of 32.20 with a top score of 46. Dhawan was selected for India Green for the Challenger Trophy in October 2008 and played against India Red and India Blue but lost both the matches and failed to qualify for the finals. He was then selected for India Red for the Challenger Trophy in October 2009 and won the Trophy with an average 48.33. His good form continued in the Ranji Trophy with a total of 451 runs from 6 innings averaging 75.16.

International Career:

After his consistent performance in the 2012-13 Domestic seasons, Dhawan was rewarded with a call-up to the Indian Test Squad in February 2013 for the four-match series against Australia. He made his test Debut in the third Test at Mohali on 14 March 2013 receiving the cap from Sachin Tendulkar, who said to him: “ we have known you as a very Gusty Player in Domestic Cricket, now we hope to see you as a Gusty Player in International Cricket, so show us some Guts.” Dhawan scored the fastest century ever on the Test Debut, off 85 balls, and also broke the long-held record of highest score by an Indian Debutant held by Gundappa Viswanath. India won the match by 6 wickets and Dhawan won the Man of the Match Award. His good form helped him gain selection to the Indian ODI Squad for the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy that was to be held in England in June. India won the competition, beating England by 5 runs in the final after overcoming South Africa, the West Indies, and Pakistan in the group stage, followed by a semifinal victory over Sri Lanka. Dhawan scored 363 runs from 5 matches at an average of 90.75 and a strike rate of over 100 and won the Golden Bat award for scoring the most runs in the tournament and was also named the player of the tournament.

IPL Career:

Shikhar Dhawan started his IPL Career with Delhi Daredevils in 2008 where he was the Third highest scorer of the Team. He was traded to the Mumbai Indians in exchange for Ashish Nehra. He has played for the Mumbai in the Second and third Season of the IPL. For the fourth season, he bought by the Deccan Chargers for $300,000. He was selected captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team prior to the start of 2013 Champions League Twenty20 tournament. He won the 2016 Indian Premier League with Sunrisers Hyderabad after putting Strong batting performances alongside Captain David Warner, scoring 501 runs in 17 matches at an average of 38.53 in the tournament.
